Drug & DUI Arrests by St. Mary's County MSP


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The following DUI and drug-related arrest reports were released today by the Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police.

On Friday, February 16, 2007 at 6:50 am, members of the St. Mary's County Drug Enforcement Division executed a Search & Seizure warrant in the 25000 block of Loveville Road in Mechanicsville. Detectives made contact with the resident, Preston Alonzo Tyer, 33, of
Mechanicsville. During the course of the investigation, detectives located marijuana in the bedroom the defendant was occupying. They also located inside the residence a straw containing cocaine residue and a digital scale containing cocaine residue. Mr. Tyer was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. He was incarcerated pending a bond review.

On Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 12:23 pm, TFC Quade observed a red Ford Ranger truck on Rt. 235 in the area of Park Pines Drive in Lexington Park exceeding the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, Raymond Joseph Coontz, 19, of Scotland. During the traffic stop, Mr. Coontz was written a Criminal Citation for possession of CDS paraphernalia and released at the scene.

On Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 4:33 pm, TFC Evans observed a white Chevrolet Caprice exceeding the posted speed limit in the area of Fox Ridge Drive and Valley Drive in Lexington Park. Contact was made with the driver, Terrell Antonio Thomas, 21, of Lexington Park. A check of his driver's license revealed his driving privileges in Maryland are suspended. He was arrested for driving while suspended. A search incident to arrest revealed one plastic bag of cocaine found in the vehicle. Mr. Thomas was charged with possession of cocaine and driving on a suspended license. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held there pending a bond review.

On Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 11:50 am, TFC Linger observed a black Cadillac Amoore with dark tinted windows on Rt. 5 in the area of Mt. Wolfe Road in Chalrotte Hall. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, Ian Christopher Emes, 19, of Lexington Park. A check of Mr. Emes' driving record revealed his driver's license was suspended. Mr. Emes fled on foot. After a brief foot chase, Mr. Emes was apprehended and was found to be in possession of two bags of cocaine powder weighing 31.9 grams and a marijuana cigar. Mr. Emes was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of CDS paraphernalia and resisting arrest and other traffic related citations and a Safety Equipment Repair Order for the tinted windows. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention pending a bond review.

On Friday, February 23, 2007 at 7:01 pm, TFC Evans observed a white Saturn coupe on Pegg Road in the area of Liberty Street, in Lexington Park exceeding the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, Michelle Lee Anderson, 32, of Chaptico. A check of Ms. Anderson's driver's license revealed her driving privileges in Maryland are suspended. She was arrested for driving while suspended. A search incident to arrest revealed four percocet pills in the vehicle. She was charged with possession of CDS, driving while suspended and other related charges. Ms. Anderson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.

On Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 2:19 pm, TFC Linger observed a black Chevrolet Malibu and the driver was not restrained by her seat belt. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, Crystal Dawn Faulstich, 22, of Hollywood. During the course of the traffic stop, Ms. Faulstich was found to be in possession of CDS, six Oxycodone pills. Ms. Anderson was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 5:42 pm, TFC Quade and Tpr Pilkerton observed a white Ford Crown Victoria and the driver not restrained by his seat belt. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, Daniel Alan Faucette, 21, of Mechanicsville. An odor of marijuana was detected emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, a blue book bag containing a small plastic baggie of marijuana, a large plastic baggie of marijuana, a digital scale and an opened box of sandwich bags were found in the vehicle. Mr. Faucette was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia and transported to the St Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Saturday, February 25, 2007 at 11:25 pm, TFC Nims and DFC J. Kirkner responded to the Super 8 Motel, in an attempt to locate a 12 year old female runaway. Upon arrival, a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from inside the room. Contact was made with the occupant, Lance Kelem Cutchember, 25, of Valley Lee. Deputy Kirkner located the female runaway and another female juvenile, 13 years old hiding in the shower. TFC Nims observed in plain view two partially burnt marijuana cigarettes in the ash tray. Mr. Cutchember was arrested for possession of marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a minor (alcohol). The parents responded to the scene and took custody of the girls. Mr. Cutchember was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
