MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF COCAINE/MARIJUANA: On 2-10, 9:10 PM, TFC Keen observed a suspicious vehicle at the St. Leonard Park & Ride. Assisted by DFC Wilson, TFC Keen performed a K-9 CDS scan. K-9 Nero alerted on the vehicle and suspected cocaine was found in the possession of the operator, Dowayne Waverly Parker, 46, of Prince Frederick. Suspected marijuana was found in the possession of the passenger, Amanda Leigh Davis, 21, of St. Leonard. After processing, they were transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

PWID PSILOCYBIN (MUSHROOMS) & MARIJUANA: On 2-15, 10:52 AM, St. Leonard Rd., Port Republic, TPR Towers stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. Assisted by TFC Keen, CDS paraphernalia (a grinder) was recovered from the operator, Richard Meredith Huntzberry, 20, of Prince Frederick. Incident to arrest, suspected marijuana, psilocybin, a digital scale, baggies, and a CDS smoking device were recovered from the vehicle. The passenger, Melissa Anne Quillen, 20, of Prince Frederick, was then placed under arrest. Both were charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and psilocybin and possession of marijuana, psilocybin, and CDS paraphernalia. After processing, they were transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

BURGLARY: During the overnight hours of 2-15, an unknown culprit forcibly entered Cove Point Automotive, Lusby, and removed an undisclosed amount of currency. TFC Lass is handling the investigation.

BURGLARY/DISTRIBUTION OF COCAINE: On 2-16, 11:28 PM, TPR Towers was dispatched to Mom & Pop’s on Broomes Is. Rd., for a burglar alarm. Upon approaching the store, TPR Towers observed a vehicle pull out of the parking lot at a high rate of speed. He also observed that the drive-thru window had been broken out. TPR Towers pursued the suspect vehicle, finally stopping it on Mackall Road. Upon contact with the occupants, TPR Towers observed blood on the passenger’s hand. Arrested at that time for 2nd degree burglary and destruction of property were Kevin Andrew Batson, 25, of Lusby, and Kyle Robert Barchers, 23, of St. Leonard. Incident to arrest, an inventory of the vehicle produced suspected crack-cocaine, a digital scale, and CDS paraphernalia. Both men were then additionally charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of cocaine, and possession of CDS paraphernalia. After processing, the two were transported to the CCDC to await a
commissioner’s hearing.

THEFT: During the overnight hours of 2-16, an unknown culprit removed a Coleman Powermate electric generator from in front of a residence on Old Solomons Is. Rd., Owings. TPR Merkelson is handling the investigation.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA/CONCEALED WEAPON: On 2-17, 3:19 PM, Rt. 2/4, Prince Frederick, TFC Slifer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. A computer check revealed that the operator, Steven Bobby Stowers, 31, of Huntingtown, was driving on a suspended license and was wanted by the CCSO on an open warrant for child support. Incident to arrest, suspected marijuana and brass knuckles were recovered from the vehicle. Mr. Stowers was additionally charged with possession of marijuana and a concealed deadly weapon. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.
