PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/FLEEING & ELUDING: On 2-8, 1:23 AM, TFC Lashley attempted to stop a vehicle on White Sands Dr., Lusby, for a traffic violation. The operator refused to stop and accelerated to speeds of 60+ mph on White Sands Drive. The operator finally stopped his vehicle in the cul-de-sac on Ridge Court. TFC Lashley stopped his MSP unit approximately 2 feet away from the driver’s door in an attempt to keep the operator from fleeing on foot. The operator accelerated his vehicle and struck the front bumper of TFC Lashley’s vehicle, causing approximately $1,500.00 in damage. TFC Lashley then pursued the vehicle from Ridge Court onto Wendy Way, where the operator exited from the moving vehicle and ran into the woods. The vehicle continued on Wendy Way, crossed over Manor View Road, traveled into the woods, and struck a tree. Units from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office and Trooper 7 responded to search for the suspect. Approximately 2:10 AM, Deputy Gregory and his K-9 were able to locate the suspect hiding among some downed trees. Arrested at that time for MDOP (+$500/-$500) and numerous traffic violations was Chaz Duvall Reed, 25, of Dowell, MD. A MVA check revealed that Mr. Reed was driving on a suspended license. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.
POSSESSION OF CRACK-COCAINE: On 2-9, 6:49 PM, Fowler Rd., Owings, TFC Bowling stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon contact with the operator, TFC Bowling observed a CDS smoking device in plain view. A search was conducted and a cellophane wrapper containing suspected crack-cocaine was located in the vehicle. Arrested at that time for possession of cocaine and CDS paraphernalia was Anthony Curtis Brady, 35, of Sunderland, MD. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.
