St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

Deputy Michael George arrested Charles Patrick Balsbaugh (Age 21 of Great Mills) for Hindering an Investigation and Assault on a Police Officer. On 02/12/07 Balsbaugh was identified as one of two drivers involved in a speed contest on Great Mills Road. Balsbaugh, who at first failed to stop for Sheriff's Deputies returned to the scene and exited his vehicle and approached the deputies yelling profanities. Balsbaugh failed to follow instructions given by the deputies and was placed under arrest. During the arrest Balsbaugh assaulted both Deputy George and Deputy Logalbo.

Deputy Jaime Reithmeyer arrested George Robert Farrell (Age 33 of Mechanicsville) for Possession of Cocaine after stopping Farrell for traffic violations.

Deputy William Watters arrested Robert Charles Tipton (Age 35 of California, MD) on a open warrant for Theft issued by the Calvert County District Court.

Deputy Charles Earle arrested James Aloysius Butler, Jr. (Age 34 of Lexington Park) on an open warrant for Theft issued by the District Court of St.Mary's County.

Deputy Kevin Somerville arrested Kevin Price (Age 49 of Washington D.C) on a District Court of St.Mary's County Bench Warrant for failing to complete court ordered Alcohol Program.

Deputy William Watters arrested Amanda Lynn Grumbine (Age 23 of Lexington Park) on a warrant issued by the District Court of St.Mary's County for Theft.

Deputy John Kirkner arrested David Keith Blend (Age 41 of Mechanicsville) for Failing to Report to the Detention Center for Incarceration after being convicted for Possession of Marijuana.
