Charles County: Road Rage Leads to Stabbing; Robbery


LA PLATA, Md. - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ROAD RAGE ASSAULT: On Feb. 13 at 12:51 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to WaWa located at 11505 Berry Road in Waldorf for the report of a stabbing. Investigation revealed Victor Norris Epps, 54, of Fort Washington and a 59-year-old Waldorf man had been driving separately on eastbound Berry Road when they became involved in a road rage incident. Both vehicles stopped in the parking lot of WaWa and the victim approached Epps on the passenger side of Epps’ vehicle. Epps reached over the passenger seat and stabbed the victim in the hand. Epps left the scene and later called the Sheriff’s Office to report the incident. An officer advised Epps to return to the scene and he complied. When Epps returned to WaWa, he was arrested and charged with first-degree assault. Epps was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner. The victim was transported to Civista Medical Center by ambulance for the injury to his hand. Officer J. Long investigated.

STRONG-ARM ROBBERY: On Feb. 5 at 12:20 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the St. Charles Town Center located at 11000 Mall Circle in Waldorf for the report of a strong-arm robbery. Investigation revealed the victim, a 17-year-old Brandywine girl, was walking to her vehicle when she noticed three suspects inside of her vehicle. The victim confronted the suspects. One of the suspects shoved the victim and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of property. The suspects are described as black males with thin builds. They are between 17 and 20 years old and 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall.
