LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) today reported that a two-month investigation has led to the arrest of a man, a woman, and a teenager. Several thousands of dollars worth of cocaine and cash were also seized from a Mechanicsville residence.
During a two month period, members of the BCI Narcotics Unit initiated an investigation at a residence in the 26000 block of Independence Drive in Mechanicsville, Md. As a result of the investigation, two search and seizure warrants were obtained.
On Friday, February 9, members of the Narcotics Unit with the assistance of the St. Mary's County Emergency Services Team, St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit, St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations, and the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack executed the search and seizure warrants at the Independence Drive address. During a search of the residence and one of the occupant's person, the following items were located:
* 56.4 grams of crack cocaine (street value of $5,640.00)
* 22.5 grams of powder cocaine (street value of $2,250.00)
* 11 grams of Marijuana (street value of $44.00)
* $2,065.00 in U.S. Currency
* A digital scale
* Numerous paraphernalia items
* Numerous stolen power tools and yard equipment
Eldridge Eugene Shade, age 41 of Mechanicsville, was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of cocaine. Shade was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review with District Court Commission.
A 16 year-old Juvenile from Hollywood, Md. was also arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine. The Juvenile was transported to the Cheltenham Youth Facility in Cheltenham, Md.
Julie Clarke, age 40 with no fixed address, was arrested on two open warrants. Clarke was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center.
Additional arrests and charges are pending a review with the States Attorney's Office.
