LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
On Monday, January 26, 2007 at 5:04 pm, TFC Evans responded to the 20000 block of Treetop Road in Lexington Park for a reported assault. Investigation revealed a black male, 27, of Lexington Park was assaulted by a black female, 22 of Lexington Park. The female suspect is being charged with 2nd degree assault on a criminal summons. Investigation continues.
On Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 7:00 pm, Tpr Adams responded to Doctors on Sight, 21000 Three Notch Rd. in California for a reported theft. During the course of the investigation, a female employee advised a possible suspect is a black male, in his mid 30's. She reported four pair of glass frames, were stolen between 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. The value of the frames are $300 each. Investigation continues.
On Sunday, February 4, 2007 at 8:28 pm, TFC Trossbach observed a Gray Pontiac Aztec exceeding the posted speed limit on Rt. 5 in the area of Abell Street in Leonardtown. A traffic stop was initiated; contact was made with the driver, Karlaton Antoine Benoit, 25, Hampton, Va. A check of MVA revealed Mr. Benoit's driving privileges in Maryland were suspended. Mr. Benoit was arrested for driving while suspended. A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Benoit had in his possession a 40 caliber handgun. Mr. Benoit was charged with possession of a handgun and driving while suspended. He was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at 12:30 pm, TFC Nims was patrolling in the area of Rt. 246 and Shangri La Dr. in Lexington Park when he observed a red Dodge Intrepid. A MVA check on the registration plate revealed the tag was reported stolen to the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, Charles Robert Davis, 39, of Lexington Park. Contact was made with the Sheriff's Department and it was confirmed the tags were stolen in October 2006. Mr. Davis was arrested for possession of stolen property and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
