MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT: During the overnight hours of 2-1, an unknown culprit forcibly entered a vehicle on Dunleigh Dr., Dunkirk, and removed a brown/tan Coach purse, containing a matching Coach wallet and personal items. TPR Chirichella is handling the investigation.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT: On 2-3, 2:11 AM, Rt. 231, Prince Frederick, TFC Whipp observed an abandoned vehicle, with the lights on and the motor running. TFC Whipp also observed that the ignition mechanism had been stripped. Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen from Fantasy World, a business located less than a ¼ mile from the location of the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.

PWID COCAINE: On 2-3, 4:11 AM, TFC Whipp observed a parked vehicle, partially blocking Sea Gull Beach Rd., Prince Frederick. The operator, Robert Douglas McGinty, 31, of Lusby, was subsequently arrested for DUI. Incident to arrest, an eyeglass case containing 6 baggies of suspected cocaine was recovered from the vehicle. Mr. McGinty was transported to the Prince Frederick Barrack and charged with DUI, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of cocaine, and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Mr. McGinty’s vehicle and $955.20 were seized pending forfeiture proceedings. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 2-4, 1:22 AM, TFC Whipp stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The operator, Nicholas Anthony Pino, 41, of Prince Frederick, was subsequently arrested for DUI. Incident to arrest, a baggie of suspected marijuana and a CDS smoking device were recovered from the vehicle. He was then additionally charged with possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 2-5, 6:15 PM, Sixes Rd., Prince Frederick, TPR Towers stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. Upon contact with the operator, he advised TPR Towers of his name and birthdate, but he had no identification on him. A MVA check revealed that no one with that name had a current MD driver’s license. Further investigation revealed that the operator’s real name was Prince Nathaniel Thompson, 25, of Port Republic, and he was driving on a suspended license. He was also wanted on a warrant through the CCSO. Assisted at the scene by Deputy Windsor and K-9 Azor, a CDS scan was performed. After alerting on the vehicle, suspected marijuana and CDS paraphernalia were recovered. In addition to Mr. Thompson, two passengers were also charged with possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. They were: Daniel Marvelle Thompson, 26, of Owings, and a 16-year-old female, of Prince Frederick. After processing, the adults were transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing. The juvenile was released to a parent.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT: On 2-6, 12:30 PM, a resident of Lusby, entered the Prince Frederick Blvd. 7-11, leaving his vehicle running. Upon his return, the vehicle was missing. Approximately 2:52 PM, a witness observed an individual abandon a vehicle on Mason Rd., Prince Frederick. A MVA check by TFC Bowling determined that this was the stolen vehicle. Using the description supplied by the witness, the suspect was located walking along Rt. 231, by Deputy Windsor, CCSO. A search of his person produced the keys to the stolen vehicle. Arrested at that time for motor vehicle theft was a 16-year-old male, of St. Leonard. Further investigation revealed that the juvenile had attempted to steal a vehicle from the Park & Ride lot on Fairground Rd., Prince Frederick, earlier in the day.

POSSESSION OF COCAINE: On 2-7, 12:39 AM, Rt. 260, Chesapeake Beach, TPR Chirichella stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The operator, Della Mae Jones, 44, of Annapolis, was subsequently arrested for DUI. Incident to arrest, a CDS smoking device was located in the vehicle and suspected crack-cocaine was located on the passenger, John Joseph Rice, 39, of Friendship. Mr. Rice was placed under arrest at that time for possession of cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. After processing, the two were transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 2-8, 5:13 AM, Rt. 2/4, Prince Frederick, TPR Chirichella stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon contact with the operator, TPR Chirichella detected the odor of suspected marijuana. A search was conducted and CDS paraphernalia containing suspected marijuana was located. Arrested at that time for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia was Michael Anthony Mason, 25, of Lusby. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.
