St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

Sheriff Office Deputy Shawn Moses observed suspect Tamara Elizabeth Higgs (Age 38 of No Fixed Address) in a parking lot on Great Mills Road, repeatedly striking a female victim in the face with a closed fist. Deputy Moses exited his vehicle and could hear the Suspect stating "I'm gonna kill you". Deputy Moses deployed his TASER, which allowed the victim to get free. As Deputies tried to place the 6'2" 220 lbs female, she resisted. After a brief struggle she was placed under arrest and charged with Assault Second Degree (two counts) Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct.

Deputies Harold Young and Patrick Handy responded to a Lexington Park residence to arrest Suspect Robert Pierre Brooks (Age 33 of Lexington Park) for Violation of a Protective Order. Deputy Young located Suspect Brooks inside the residence and began to place him in custody. Suspect Tiffany Danielle Thompson (Age 31 of Lexington Park) attempted to forcibly prevent Deputy Handy from entering the residence to assist in the arrest. She was placed under arrest for Hindering and Resisting Arrest.

Corporal Christopher Morley served a Criminal Summons on Kenneth Francis Fusco Jr. (Age 18 of Mechanicsville) for Assault First and Second Degree. Suspect Fusco Jr. contacted the victim, who has Down Syndrome, and repeatedly fired the BB gun at him. The victim was struck in the both arms and legs. The physical injuries were reported as minor.

Deputy Jaime Reithmeyer served a Criminal summons on Robert Claude Johnson (Age 51 of Lexington Park). The charges were filed by Assistant State's Attorney Daniel White and were for the crimes of False Statement to an Official and Perjury.

Alma Moreno Ettner (Age 20 of Leonardtown) was arrested by Deputy Randall Wood for Contempt of Court.

Deputy David Corcoran arrested Joshua Eugene Petty (Age 22 of Leonardtown) for two open warrants for Failure to Appear.

Deputy David Yingling conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Lexington Park and identified the operator as David Robert Santos (Age 52 of Lexington Park). Suspect Santos displayed signs of being severely intoxicated, failed all of the roadside tests and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Suspect Santos is a repeat offender.
