LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The St. Mary's County Bureau of Investigations (BCI) today reported that two armed robberies occurred yesterday. They also reported that a fight at the Happyland Bar left two men with serious stab wounds.
BCI is investigating the armed robbery of Abell's Tavern in Callaway which occurred on February 4th at approximately 8 p.m. According to police, two white males entered the establishment and, while attempting to remove the cash register, were confronted by an employee. One suspect threatened the employee with a handgun. The suspects fled with the register containing an undisclosed amount of currency.
BCI is investigating the armed robbery of the Wawa on Great Mills Road in Great Mills which occurred on February 4th at approximately 3:20 a.m. According to police, a black male entered the store wearing a grey hooded jacket and white bandana. He displayed a handgun to the clerk and demanded money. The clerk complied and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
On February 4th at approximately 02:20 a.m., St. Mary's County Deputy Sheriffs and Maryland State Troopers responded to the Happyland Bar in Valley Lee for a large fight. Upon their arrival they found Thomas Adams, 22 yoa, from Charles County with 3 stab wounds to the back and 1 to the wrist. They also located Antione Hawkins, 25 yoa, from Charles County with 1 stab wound to the thigh. Adams was taken to P.G. Shock Trauma and Hawkins was taken to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment. BCI is continuing the investigation.
