LEONARDTOWN, Md. - According to the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI), Jughead Liquors located in the Laurel Glenn Shopping Center, in California, Md., was robbed at gunpoint last night. This is the latest in a series of armed robberies that have occurred in the Lexington Park
area in the past month. Past victims include Papa John's Pizza, the Mattress Corner, and Checkers restaurant.
At approximately 8 p.m. on Jan. 25, officers responded to the liquor store after being alerted to the robbery. According to police, the suspect entered the store, brandished a firearm to the clerk, and demanded money. The suspect then fled the area with an undisclosed amount of US currency.
The suspect is described as a light skinned black male wearing black clothing.
