Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT: A Ditch Witch ground penetrating radar unit worth $15,000 was stolen from the bed of a work truck owned by One Call Concepts Locating Services, Inc. of Hanover. DFC James L. Wahlgren responded to the theft call from an employee of the company who stated the work truck had been parked outside his home on 9th Street in North Beach on January 9 at 10:00 p.m. At around 3:00 a.m. he heard a noise and noticed the machinery missing.

THEFT: A traffic stop for speeding revealed stolen signs in the back of the vehicle. Cp. Anthony C. Moschetto conducted a traffic stop on January 10 at 2:00 p.m. on Arbor Court in Owings and discovered the signs, a street sign and a sign from Southern Memorial Gardens valued at $80. The driver, Zackary R. Hollenczer, 18 of Owings, was charged with theft.

CDS VIOLATION: DFC Richard A. Figueiras arrested the fifteen-year-old male passenger of a vehicle that had been stopped for a traffic infraction. It happened on January 10 at 10:22 p.m. just past the WaWa Convenience store in Dunkirk. The juvenile, of Dunkirk, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. He was charged on a youth report and released to the custody of a parent.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Unknown suspects caused $300 in damage to a vehicle on Red Cloud Road in Lusby during the overnight hours of January 12. Dep. Richard Cox is investigating.

SHOPLIFTING: Dfc John "Marty" McCarroll responded to the Giant Food store in Prince Frederick on January 13 for a theft call. Deborah J. Kneessi, 54 of Prince Frederick had been observed stealing $13 worth of items and was detained by a store employee. She was charged with theft.

STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE: A victim on Bonanza Trail in Lusby reported to Dep. Mark Robshaw that his vehicle, a 2001 Honda S2000, was stolen between January 13 at 10:00 p.m. and January 14 at 10:00 a.m. The vehicle is silver with a black convertible top. Dep. Robshaw will continue the investigation.
