Fire Causes $150K Damage to Unoccupied Indian Head House


INDIAN HEAD, Md. - Thirty firefighters from Potomac Heights, Bryans Road, Marbury, and Accokeek responded to a house fire on Jenkins Drive in Indian Head on Saturday night at approximately 10 p.m. It took approximately forty-five minutes to bring the blaze under control.

Damage to the two-story single family home was estimated at $150,000. According to the State Fire Marshall, the fire started on the rear enclosed porch. However, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The fire was discovered by neighbors. The house was unoccupied.
