One of Two Known Armed Robberies in the County on Saturday
LOVEVILLE, Md. - The number of armed robberies in St. Mary's County is ramping up. On Dec. 23, the Lexington Park Papa Johns was robbed. On Dec. 28, the Checkers in California, Md. was robbed. On Jan. 13 the Lexington Park Mattress Corner was robbed. It was just reported by police that on Saturday, Jan. 13, another armed robbery occurred at the Third Base Store in Loveville, Md.
According to the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department, on Jan. 13 at approximately 8:30 p.m., two black males, approximately 22 to 24 years of age, wearing dark clothing and ski masks with handguns entered the Third Base Store in Loveville, Maryland. One suspect placed his gun to the store clerk's head and demanded the clerk open the cash register. The clerk complied and the suspects stole an undisclosed amount of currency.
A white Oldsmobile Cutlass was seen leaving the area with its lights off.
According to police, several minutes later, two black males, wearing dark clothing, ran through a nearby yard as a female resident was in the driveway. One of the suspects shot the woman with a pellet gun. The woman was not injured. According to the witness, the two men got into a vehicle and left the area.
