State Approves $146.5K for Pope's Creek Rail Trail


ANNAPOLIS - On January 3, Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. announced that the Board of Public Works approved $146,500 in Program Open Space funds for Pope’s Creek Rail Trail. The funds will be used to acquire 41 acres of the abandoned Pope’s Creek Rail Line in Charles County.

The BPW is composed of Governor Ehrlich, Comptroller William Donald Schaefer, and Treasurer Nancy K. Kopp.

Established under the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in 1969, Program Open Space provides funds for state and local parks and conservation areas.
