Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT: Sometime between 9 p.m. Dec. 24 and 8 a.m. Dec. 25, suspect(s) gained entry into a 1999 Ford Taurus parked in the 2900 block of Marsh Hawk Drive in Waldorf and stole an X-Box video game system and a video game. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777 or Charles County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. Officer J. Timko is investigating.

THEFT: On Dec. 24 at 5 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s Officer G. Barnhart responded to J.C. Penney located at 11100 Mall Circle in Waldorf for the report of a shoplifter in custody. Investigation revealed two women concealed merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying. Shanielle Latoya Bundy, 20, of Waldorf, was detained by loss prevention. Tiffany Andrea Thomas, 19, of Wadorf initially fled but officers located her a short time later. Both women were charged via criminal citations with theft of property valued at less than $500 and released.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On Dec. 22 at 6 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the food court at St. Charles Towne Center located at 11110 Mall Circle in Waldorf for the report of a fight. Mall security officers detained Robert Markell Scott, 19, of Oxon Hill and a 16-year-old Clinton boy for being disorderly and disturbing the public peace. Investigation revealed they had been involved in a fight in the food court with numerous other individuals. Both accused were charged with disorderly conduct and the teen was also charged with trespassing on private property. Scott was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner and the juvenile was released to his mother. Cpl. D. Byrd and Cpl. J. Piazza investigated.

PROPERTY DESTRUCTION: Sometime between 11 a.m. Dec. 22 and 10 a.m. Dec. 26, suspect(s) damaged the light fixtures in front of the entrance signs on Lancaster Circle in Waldorf. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777 or Charles County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. Officer J. Timko is investigating.

THEFT: On Dec. 21 at 5:26 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Forever 21 located at 11110 Mall Circle in Waldorf for the report of a shoplifting. Investigation revealed a 15-year-old Temple Hills girl concealed merchandise and left the store without paying for it. After an employee notified police of the theft, officers located the suspect in the food court of the mall. She was arrested and charged with theft of property valued at less than $500. She was released to her mother pending further action by the Department of Juvenile Services. Officer J. Timko investigated.
