MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

On Monday, December 18, 2006 at 11:00 am, TFC Linger was patrolling on Mechanicsville Road in Mechanicsville when he observed a white pickup truck exceeding the post speed limit. A routine traffic stop was initiated. Contact was made with the driver, Christopher George Hicks, 19, of Mechanicsville. Mr. Hicks was cited for exceeding the posted speed limit. Further investigation revealed that Mr. Hicks was in possession of plastic bag of marijuana, he was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center in Leonardtown pending a bond review.

On Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 4:19 am, Tpr. Adams responded to the Friendly Tavern in Great Mills for the report of a burglary. Upon arrival contact was made with the complainant, a male, 55, of Great Mills. He advised the front door was broken and entry was made into the establishment. The unknown suspect(s) took ten dollars in change and 5 packs of Marlboro cigarettes. The suspect(s) left through the rear door. Investigation continues.

On Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 11:00 am, TFC Linger was patrolling on Route 235 in the California area when he observed a Pontiac Bonneville traveling southbound Route 235 @ 1st Colony Blvd. The passenger was not restrained by the seat belt and a route traffic stop was initiated. Upon contacting the passenger, Brandi Marie Beckett, 23, of Lexington Park, TFC Linger observed some suspected loose marijuana on the front passenger floor of the vehicle. A probable search was conducted and a partially burnt marijuana "roach" in a cigarette box was located in Ms. Beckett's purse. Ms. Beckett was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center in Leonardtown pending a bond review.

On Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 22:46 pm, Tpr. Adams responded to the 21000 block of Rosebay Street in Leonardtown for a report of an domestic assault. Investigation revealed that the suspect, Tracy Ann Richardson, 41, of Leonardtown assaulted the victim, a male, 43 of Leonardtown. Ms. Richardson was arrested for 2nd degree assault and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center in Leonardtown pending a bond review. Investigation continues.

On Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 1:38 am, TFC Linger was patrolling Route 235 south of Route 246 in the Lexington Park. TFC Linger observed a Nissan passenger car exceeding the posted speed limit. A routine traffic stop was initiated for the speeding violation. Further investigation revealed the passenger, William Keith Penn, 38, of Lexington Park was in possession of crack cocaine and two smoking devices containing burnt cocaine residue. Mr. Penn was arrested for possession of cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. He was later transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
