Md. House Republicans Elect New Leadership Team

Delegate Anthony J. O’Donnell Elected as Minority Leader

ANNAPOLIS - The House Republican Caucus today elected Delegate Anthony J. O’Donnell (District 29C) as Minority Leader and Delegate Christopher B. Shank (District 2B) as Minority Whip.

“We are honored to have been chosen to lead the caucus, and are looking forward to working hard as a caucus and as a team,” said O’Donnell. “The task ahead of us now is to articulate our message and make sure that the voice of the caucus and the citizens we represent is heard.”

According to the Maryland House Republican Caucas, they are eager to begin the work of the 2007 session, united in purpose and mission. A spokesman for the caucas said they are “anticipating many opportunities to serve the citizens of Maryland in word and deed.”

“We are pleased with the support of the caucus for our leadership,” said Shank. “We will endeavor to ensure the people of Maryland are well-represented by the Republican caucus and that we voice their views and values on the issues facing the State of Maryland.”
