St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

Rosita Thomas (Age 46 of Leonardtown) was served a Criminal Summons by Deputy Kevin Somerville for passing a worthless check. The bad check was valued at more than $110.00.

Emily Mae Samone (Age 19 of Hollywood, Maryland) and Caitlin Rose Stewart (Age 19 of Hollywood) arrived at the St. Mary's County Detention Center in an attempt to leave items for an inmate. The items (thermal underwear and shoes) were searched and found to contain items of contraband. Rolling papers and tobacco were discovered in the soles of the shoes. Lt. Michael R. Merican and Correctional Officers detained the Suspects. Deputy Timothy Reese charged the suspects with possession of contraband and possession with the intent to deliver contraband into the Detention Center.

Thomas Leroy Taylor (Age 47 of Lexington Park) was charged on a Criminal Summons for Violation of a Protective Order and Telephone Misuse. The charging Officer was Corporal D. Milam.

James Edward Butler Jr. (Age 65 of Leonardtown) was arrested after Deputy Jason Graves arrived at his home for a reported domestic assault. Suspect Butler was involved in a verbal altercation and he became physical with the undisclosed victim.

Sgt. Terry L. Black arrested Daniel Joseph Smith 3rd (Age 30 of Capitol Heights, Maryland) for Failure to Appear.

Patricia Ann Tippett (Age 28 of Lexington Park) was arrested by Deputy Douglas Harris on an open warrant for Failure to Pay Child Support.
