After devastating Charles County, Criminals from Prince George's County now starting to venture into Calvert
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
BURGLARY: Cpl. Darren Makrokanis was making a routine patrol check behind the Walmart store in Prince Frederick on December 8 in the early morning hours when he observed 2 males attempting to gain entry to storage areas. It was discovered that the vehicle the suspects were driving had been reported stolen in Prince George's County. One suspect, a juvenile from Lanham, was charged on a youth report with burglary and theft of a motor vehicle and released to the Department of Juvenile Services. Cpl. Makrokanis is continuing the investigation for the second suspect.
CDS VIOLATION: Sgt. Brian Koehn was conducting a routine traffic stop on December 8 at approximately 4:00 a.m. in the area of Mason Road and Route 231 in Prince Frederick. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Gerwin R. Morsell, 33, of Owings, was arrested and charged with possession of PCP, cocaine and a firearm.
CDS VIOLATION: On December 8 at 9:00 p.m. on Md. Rt. 260 and Mt. Harmony Road in Owings while conducting a traffic stop for a suspected drunk driver, Dep. Carl Fischer performed a search incident to arrest. The driver, later identified as Arthur A. Chilson, 41, of Pasadena was found to have suspected marijuana and a weapon in his vehicle. Chilson was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, possession of a concealed weapon and driving while intoxicated.
BURGLARY: DFC William Milam responded to a home on Lacrosse Court in Dunkirk on December 9 for a burglary call. The victim advised that sometime between December 8 and 9 unknown suspect(s) broke into a shed on his property and stole a "Gentrack" generator worth $300 and a Homelite leaf blower valued at $200.00. A neighbor of the victim informed DFC Milam that his shed had been tampered with but no entry was made. Milam will continue the investigation.
THEFT: An employee of the Chapline House Senior Apartments on Allnut Court in Prince Frederick advised DFC Gary Shrawder that two white wicker chairs and a wicker table all valued at $550 were taken from the porch of the business sometime between December 8 at 4:30 p.m. and December 11 at 8:00 in the morning. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Shrawder at 410-535-2800.
BURGLARY: DFC Eric Basham responded to a home on Claggett Road in Sunderland at 10:43 a.m. on December 11 to investigate a burglary that had just occurred. The victim advised that she heard a noise in her kitchen and observed the suspect at her open window. She then realized money was missing from her purse. DFC Basham located the suspect, identified as Frederick L. Claggett, 45, of Sunderland a short distance from the victim's home and arrested him for first-degree burglary and theft.
