LA PLATA, Md. - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

RESISTING ARREST: On Nov. 28 at 12:24 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 5200 block of Browns Place in Indian Head for the report of an assault. Officers found the suspect, Lawrence Lowell Muschette, 42, of Pomfret, hiding under a mattress with a shotgun next to him. Muschette assaulted officers as they were attempting to arrest him. After a brief struggle, Muschette was arrested. A search revealed he was in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He was charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, destruction of property, fleeing and eluding on foot and an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court regarding a drug charge. DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Nov. 27 at 8:11 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 2600 block of Enterprise Place in Waldorf for the report of shots fired. Investigation revealed the victim, a 40-year-old Waldorf woman, was sitting on her couch when a shot entered her front window and lodged in the wall behind her. Officers found witnesses in the area who heard the shot and observed two vehicles leave Westdale Court and Western Parkway area at a high rate of speed while a person ran after them. The vehicles are described as a dark-colored Ford Crown Victoria with tinted windows and a small black passenger car. The victim was not injured. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777. Officer J. Thompson is investigating.
