LA PLATA, Md. - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.
HATE CRIME: Sometime between Nov. 11 and Nov. 12, suspect(s) used orange spray paint to write racially offensive words on the roadway leading to the parking lot of Zion Baptist Church located at 8105 Annapolis Woods Road in Welcome. The suspect(s) wrote KKK, White Power and Bang Boom. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriffs Office at 301-932-2222. Officer K. STRONG ARM ROBBERY: On Nov. 11 at 10:12 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Adams Lane in Waldorf for the report of a strong arm robbery. Investigation revealed the victim, a 16-year-old Waldorf boy, was struck in the face and tackled by three to five suspects. One suspect stole cash from the victims back pocket and fled the scene on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment. ASSAULT: On Nov. 11 at 9:19 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of Garner Avenue in Waldorf for the report of an assault. Investigation revealed the victim, a 47-year-old Waldorf man, was riding his motorcycle when he observed the suspect sitting on the tailgate of a pick-up truck pointing what the victim believed to be a handgun at him. The victim went to his residence, called 9-1-1 and went to confront the suspect. As the victim approached the suspects residence, the suspect and another person fled to the rear of the residence. The victim then returned to his residence to wait for officers to arrive. Officers found pellets and BBs lying in the bed of the suspects truck. THEFT: On Nov. 9 at 8:40 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to Sears located at 11170 Mall Circle in Waldorf for the report of a theft. Investigation revealed the suspect was observed by loss prevention removing price tags from clothing, concealing them and exiting the store. Loss prevention detained the 16-year-old Waldorf girl until officers arrival. The girl was arrested and charged with theft valued at less than $100. She was released to the custody of a parent.
