LEXINGTON PARK, Md. - The Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad has been awarded $96,903 in federal funding through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. The program helps local fire departments buy equipment and provide adequate training.
Ken Hicks, President of the Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad, said the funding will purchase personal protective equipment for 111 of his members. "As the busiest rescue squad in St. Mary's County, this grant will go a long way to helping us effectively keep our communities safe," said Hicks.
