LA PLATA, Md. - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.
ARMED ROBBERY: On Nov. 8 at 12:35 a.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 1065 St. Ignatius Drive in Waldorf for the report of an armed robbery. Investigation revealed two suspects armed with long guns entered the business and took money from the cash register and property. They fled on foot across St. Ignatius Drive. Cpl. C. Roberts and his K9 partner conducted a search which ended in the parking lot on Hamilton Place. The suspects are described as black males. One was wearing dark clothing, a black knit cap, a black mask and a black puffy jacket. The other suspect was wearing a black and white knit cap and mask, a black jacket and gray sweatpants with a dark-colored stripe. STRONG ARM ROBBERY: On Nov. 6 at 7:10 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to the Sprint/Radio Shack kiosk at St. Charles Towne Center located at 11110 Mall Circle in Waldorf for the report of an armed robbery. Investigation revealed an employee, an 18-year-old girl, was holding a cellular phone and explaining its features to the suspect when the suspect grabbed the phone from her hands and fled the mall through the door near Ruby Tuesdays. The suspect is described as a medium-complexioned black male between 13 and 16 years of age, has black hair and was wearing an olive-colored coat and dark jeans. THEFT: On Nov. 4 at 3:58 p.m., Officer G. Barnhart responded to Sears located at 11170 Mall Circle in Waldorf for the report of a theft. Investigation revealed the stores loss prevention observed John Robert Bassett, 19, of Waldorf select two bottles of cologne from a display case, remove them from their boxes and conceal them in this clothing. Bassett then exited the store without paying for the merchandise. Bassett was charged with theft valued at less than $500 and released. Officer G. Barnhart investigated.
