LA PLATA, Md. - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ARMED ROBBERY: On Oct. 30 at 12:25 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to 7-Eleven located at 325 Smallwood Drive East in Waldorf for the report of an armed robbery. Investigation revealed two suspects armed with long guns entered the business and demanded money and cigarettes. The employee, a 35-year-old man, complied and the suspects fled the scene on foot. The suspects are described as black males in their late teens or early twenties and were wearing black clothing. One suspect is light-complexioned, is about 5 feet 9 inches tall and wore dreadlocks. The other suspect is about 6 feet 2 inches tall. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777. Officer J. Kelly is investigating.

BURGLARY: On Oct. 29 at 7:37 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 6100 block of Tapir Place in Waldorf for the report of a burglary in progress. Investigation revealed the victim, a 25-year-old Waldorf woman, came home and found the suspect hiding in an upstairs bedroom closet. The victim fled the residence to the parking lot outside. The suspect chased her outside and confronted her, then fled to a nearby residence. Witnesses advised officers which residence the suspect fled to and that the suspect was still inside. Officers checked the residence and located the suspect hiding in the bathtub behind a shower curtain. He was arrested and identified as Al Travon Gardner, 18, of Waldorf. Gardner was charged with first- and fourth-degree burglary and was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the district court commissioner. Officer R. MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH: On Oct. 28 at 8:33 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 10900 block of Beechwood Court in Waldorf for the report that a motor vehicle crashed into a residence. Upon officers’ arrival, they discovered a Ford Expedition had driven into the front of an unoccupied residence. The driver, George Allen Hines, Jr., 39, of Capitol Heights, was transported by ambulance to Fort Washington Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Officer D. Baker is investigating.

BURGLARY: Sometime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Oct. 27, suspect(s) entered a residence in the 10 block of Prospect Avenue in Indian Head through the front door and stole cash. There was no damage to the home. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-743-2222. Cpl. R. Cadrette is investigating.

BURGLARY: Sometime between 9:30 a.m. Oct. 26 and 2:50 p.m. Oct. 27, suspect(s) forced entry into a residence in the 15800 block of Plumage Court in Waldorf and stole property. The suspect(s) were possibly operating a gray 1980s pick-up truck. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Officer R. Snyder at 301-932-7777.

BURGLARY: Sometime between 1:50 p.m. Oct. 20 and 7 p.m. Oct. 22, suspect(s) forced entry through a bedroom window into a residence in the 6000 block of New Forest Court in Waldorf and stole cash and other property. Anyone with information about this incident or who has seen anyone suspicious in the area is asked to contact Officer R. Kimble of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777.
