Charles County Postpones Halloween Sobriety Checkpoint and Roving Patrols

LA PLATA, Md. - The Charles County Sheriff’s Office has postponed the Halloween sobriety checkpoint and saturation patrols, scheduled for Oct. 27 from 8 p.m. until 3 a.m., due to the forecast of heavy rain and wind. The checkpoint will be rescheduled at a later date.

The Sheriff’s Office noted that patrol officers will still be on the lookout for intoxicated drivers. To avoid being arrested or being involved in a serious or fatal collision, the Sheriff advised that motorists should not drink and drive.
