Traffic Stop Nets Man Wanted for Failure to Pay Child Support


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - According to the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department, on 10-26-2006 SDFC Michael D. Peacher was investigating a complaint of speeding in Leonardtown. While conducting speed enforcement on Point Lookout Road, he observed a 1985 Pontiac traveling southbound at 55 mph in a posted 40 mph zone.

Peacher conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. He found that the driver, Michael Wayne Henson, 45 of Lexington Park, had an open child support bench warrant for his arrest. Peacher placed Henson under arrest and transported him to the St Mary's County Detention Center where he is being held on a $3900.00 bond.
