43 warrants were served as a result of the sweep
LA PLATA, Md. - The Charles County Sheriffs Office conducted a multi-jurisdictional warrant sweep on Oct. 18 between midnight and 7 a.m. The Domestic Violence Unit coordinated the sweep to coincide with the fourth annual National Family Violence Apprehension Detail.
Twenty-five Sheriffs officers and correctional officers, with assistance from the Maryland State Police La Plata and Forestville barracks, Prince Georges County Sheriffs Office, St. Marys County Sheriffs Office and the Department of Natural Resources Police, attempted warrant service at 72 locations in Prince Georges County.
During the sweep, 24 warrants were served including two Maryland home detention warrants. One Prince Georges County adult missing person was also recovered.
Nineteen warrants were served prior to the sweep as a result of information obtained from previous warrant service investigations, resulting in a final total of 43 warrants served as a result of the sweep. Of those warrants, 25 were for domestic violence, 10 were for child support and eight were other criminal warrants.
