Ink Cartridge Caper Leads to Drug Arrests


WALDORF, Md. - On Oct. 15 at 3:56 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Office Depot located at 3079 Waldorf Market Place in Waldorf for the report of a theft. The investigation revealed that suspects stole ink cartridges and fled the store.

A witness provided a description of the vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and stopped it on westbound Berry Road in Waldorf. The four suspects in the vehicle were arrested and a subsequent search revealed they were in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Ronald Pattrick Garnett, 48, Anthony Lamont Wills, 40, Tania Diane Heel Payne, 47, all of Washington, D.C., and Ricardo McDowell, 49, of Forestville, were charged with theft valued at less than $500, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending appearances before a district court commissioner.
