Three Teens Charged for Shooting Waldorf Man with BB Gun

LA PLATA, Md. - Detectives with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit have arrested three juveniles for shooting a 31-year-old Waldorf man with a BB gun in early October.

Donald Robert Waclaw, Jr., 17, of Capitol Heights, Yhonta Loree Wilson, 17, of Fort Washington and Christopher Len Law, 16, of Waldorf were charged as adults with first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. Detectives obtained warrants for the accused on October 11 and the warrants were served the same day. They were transported to the Charles County Detention Center and were released on bond.

The arrest stemmed from an incident that occurred on October 2 at 10:30 p.m. Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the 4000 block of Bluebird Drive in Waldorf for the report of a fight. The investigation had revealed that the victim was riding his bicycle when he was approached by the suspects, who ordered him to the ground. The victim attempted to flee the scene and one of the suspects shot him several times with a BB gun.

The suspects fled the scene in a 1995 blue Chevrolet Cavalier displaying Washington, D.C. tags. Officers observed the Cavalier on Dunlin Court and attempted to stop it. The suspects exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot into a wooded area. Officers, including a K9 team, conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the suspects. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and refused medical treatment.

Det. J. Elliott investigated.
