Chesapeake Beach Shoplifter Nabbed by Deputies

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - Chesapeake Care Pharmacy, on Bayside Road in Chesapeake Beach, had reported to DFC Eric Basham, of the Calvert County Sheriff's Department, that on September 21 an unidentified male shoplifted over $1200 worth of items from the store and then fled the scene.

Detective/Corporal Timothy K. Fridman of the Calvert Investigative Team (CIT) Division assumed the investigation. Fridman determined that the suspect was Clint J. Myers, 34, of Dunkirk.

On October 17, Fridman was working part-time security at the store when the suspect entered, placed numerous items from throughout the store into a basket and then concealed the basket behind a display. Fridman, assisted by Deputy James W. Smith and Deputy Johnny Coates, made contact with Myers. Myers pushed the officers and fled on foot. Fridman and Smith pursued the suspect. After a short chase and struggle, they apprehended him.

Myers was charged with Theft over $500, Attempted Theft, Resisting Arrest and Second Degree Assault.
