MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, MD—The following incident and arrest reports were released today by the Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police.

On Saturday, October 7, 2006 at 7:30 am, TFC Van Bennekum responded to Bond Circle, California, for a reported stolen vehicle. Investigation revealed the victim went outside to leave for work when she noticed her vehicle, Chevrolet Silverado, was gone. The investigation is continuing.

On Saturday, October 7, 2006 at 10:58 am, TFC Linger stopped a vehicle on Golden Beach Road at Jane Gay Drive, Charlotte Hall, for failing to drive in a single lane. Upon contact with the driver, Justin William Hudson, 28, of Mechanicsville, marijuana was observed on the rear seat. A further search of the vehicle revealed a smoking device containing marijuana in the center console. Mr. Hudson was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. He was taken to the Leonardtown Barrack and released to a relative.

On Sunday, October 8, 2006 at 7:42 am, Tpr. McCartney responded to the 21000 block of Great Mills Road for a reported burglary. Investigation revealed two glass doors had been smashed, entry made, and candy (worth approximately $15) stolen from a vending machine. Damage to the door and machine was estimated at $600. The investigation is continuing.

On Sunday, October 8, 2006 at 11:09 am, TFC Van Bennekum responded to 45000 block of Poteat Court, California, for a reported assault. Contact was made with the subjects at the residence, who indicated they did not know why the police were called. While talking to those subjects the victim arrived. The victim and Alisha Marie Marshall, 19, of California, began arguing. Ms. Marshall produced an 8” knife and approached the victim and TFC Van Bennekum. Ms. Marshall refused to drop the knife when ordered to. She was subsequently arrested and charged with assault. She was taken to the detention center and held pending a bond review.

On Monday, October 9, 2005 at 10:50 am, TFC Linger stopped a vehicle for speeding on Route 235 at Beck Road in Hollywood. The driver’s, Joel Freeman Reimers, 25, of Lexington Park, movements were sluggish and his speech slurred. Mr. Reimers was asked to exit his vehicle and perform field sobriety tests. A pat down for officer safety was conducted. Marijuana was located in his pants pocket. A search of the vehicle, incident to arrest, revealed a smoking device, containing marijuana, in the center console. Mr. Reimers was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. He was taken to the detention center and held pending a bond review.

On Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at 1:00 am, TFC Nims observed two men standing in front of a closed business in the Millison Plaza in Lexington Park. Upon contact with the subjects, a pat down was conducted. A smoking device, containing cocaine, was recovered from Thomas Raymond Banks, 50, of Lexington Park. Mr. Banks was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine. He was taken to the detention center and held pending a bond review.

On Thursday, October 12, 2006 at 1:30 am, TFC Van Bennekum arrested Serena Jill Turley, 22, of Lusby, on an outstanding Worcester County Bench Warrant for failing to appear on a disorderly charge. Ms. Turley was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held until posting a $500 bond.
