Armed Robbery Spree in Charles County


ARMED ROBBERY: On Oct. 2 at 9:06 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 2100 block of Duchy Court in Waldorf for the report of an armed robbery. Investigation revealed the victim, a 37-year-old Waldorf man, was in his driveway cleaning his boat when he observed the suspect approached him, brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s wallet. The suspect stole the victim’s credit card and fled the area on a bicycle toward Wakefield Circle. After the suspect fled the scene the victim found his credit card nearby. The suspect is described as a black male in his early 20s. He was wearing a black sweatshirt, dark jeans and a white bandanna covering his face. ARMED ROBBERY: On Oct. 1 at 11:10 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Waldorf Motel located at 2125 Crain Highway in Waldorf for the report of an armed robbery. Investigation revealed the victims, four Pennsylvania men ages 27, 28, 29 and 49, were inside their hotel room when the suspects knocked on the door. One of the victims slightly opened the door and the two suspects forced they way into the room. One suspect brandished a handgun and demanded the victims’ money. The victims complied and the suspects fled the scene. Both suspects are described as black males in their late 30s. They are 5 feet 9 inches tall and weigh 140 pounds. The first suspect had a large tattoo on the left side of his neck and was wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt and a faded, navy blue New York Yankees ball cap. The second suspect was wearing blue jeans and had a full beard and graying hair. The suspects’ vehicle is described as a gold, late-1980s Nissan or Toyota sedan. ARMED ROBBERY: On Oct. 1 at 12:22 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 12100 block of Ell Lane in Waldorf for the report of an armed robbery. Investigation revealed four victims, a 29-year-old Waldorf woman, a 32-year-old Waldorf man, a 40-year-old Waldorf woman and a 52-year-old Hughesville woman, were in the residence when there was a knock on the door. One of the victims checked the peep hole and observed her friend, the fifth victim, a 26-year-old Prince George’s County man, at the door. As she opened the door to let him in the suspect knocked the man to the ground and forced his way into the residence. The suspect brandished a handgun, assaulted the woman and demanded money. One of the victims was in another room when she heard the struggle and came out to investigate. The suspect ordered her to drop her cell phone as another victim exited another room. The suspect went into a bedroom and demanded money from a fourth victim. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene. Officers and a K9 team checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The suspect is described as a stocky light-complexioned black male in his 20s weighing 200 pounds. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and had a black mask over his face. ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY: On Sept. 30 at 4:57 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to an armed robbery in the 400 block of University Circle in Waldorf. Investigation revealed the victim, a 12-year-old Waldorf boy, was approached by the suspect, who brandished a handgun and demanded his cell phone. The boy struggled with the suspect, disarmed him and threw the handgun away from the suspect. He ran home and the suspect retrieved the handgun and fled the scene to the rear of Dr. Brown Elementary School. A K-9 team checked the area but was unable to locate the suspect. The suspect is described as a black male between 13 and 15 years of age. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and a brown Halloween mask described as having long black hair with a wrinkled face.
