Theft
A shoplifter was caught on camera stealing more than $1200 worth of items from the Chesapeake Care Drug Store in Chesapeake Beach and then leaving in a red truck on September 21 at 4:53 p.m. The unidentified subject was observed taking numerous items from the shelves and leaving the store without paying. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Eric Basham at 410-535-2800.
Tampering with Vehicle
A victim on Golden West Way in Lusby reported to Dep. John M. Bonville that two unknown juvenile males were observed entering her vehicle at 2:50 a.m. on September 24. The vehicle was parked in her driveway. Other family members in the home ran outside and frightened the juveniles away. Nothing appears to be missing. Bonville will continue to investigate.
CDS Violation
Five juveniles were charged on youth reports and released to their parents on September 24 at 1:04 a.m. after they were found smoking marijuana. The five males were inside a vehicle that was parked in front of a home on Garrison Street in St. Leonard. DFC William R. Milam had been dispatched to the scene for a loud party call.
Aggravated Assault, Destruction of Property
DFC Michael P. Naecker responded to a home on Rivershore Drive in Dunkirk on Sunday September 24 at 2:27 in the morning for an assault call. The victim reported that
he and some friends came to the home for a party, but that the host became hostile and started swinging a baseball bat telling everyone to leave. The suspect, Blake A. Messmore, 20, struck the victim in the back, not causing severe injury. Messmore also broke out the front and back windows of a vehicle belonging to a second victim. Messmore, who stated that the victims came to the party uninvited, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and malicious destruction of property.
