On Sept. 23 at 11:12 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to a residence in the 2200 block of Flora Springs Street in Waldorf for the report of a shooting. While officers were responding to the call, information was received about a second shooting at a residence in the 2300 block of Rolling Meadows Street in Waldorf. Subsequent investigation revealed that the shootings were related.
The victim on Flora Springs Street, a 16-year-old Waldorf boy, was walking to a friends residence with two other people when they were approached by four to six suspects who brandished a handgun. The victims were attempting to run away when the 16-year-old was shot in the upper body. One other victim, a 16-year-old Waldorf boy, was caught and robbed of cash.
The victim on Rolling Meadows Street, a 46-year-old Waldorf man, was working on his vehicle when he was approached by a group of suspects brandishing a handgun. The victim fought with the suspects and was shot in the lower body.
Both victims were transported by a U.S. Park Police helicopter to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects are described as black males, one possibly has dread locks. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Det. T. Miner at 301-609-6499.
