The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office announced today the following arrests that
were made by the Deputies between the dates of September 15th-18th, 2006.
Sheriff's Office Deputy David Cowan arrested Vanessa Marie Long (Age 21 of Mechanicsville, Maryland) for an open warrant related to a Violation of Probation. Search incident to the arrest revealed Suspect Long was in possession of marijuana. She was charged with the additional violation of a Controlled Dangerous Substance law.
Deputy Earl Young arrested Timothy Dennis Seip (Age 31 of No Fixed Address) for a District Court warrant related to a Second Degree Assault. The warrant was issued after Deputy Young conducted an investigation that began on September 9th, 2006.
Sgt. Terry L. Black applied for and received a warrant through the District Court Commissioner for Shelly Amita Williams-Harris (Age 31 of Mechanicsville) for Violation of a Protective Order. The arrest was made by Deputy Elizabeth Trossbach.
Leon Francis Stone (Age 23 of Waldorf, Maryland) was arrested for Failure to Appear before the District Court. Suspect Stone was arrested by Deputy Jason Graves.
Deputy Shaun Carberry arrested Danny Matthew Thompson (Age 34 of Piney Point, Maryland) for an open warrant. The warrant was related to Suspect Thompson Failing to Appear for the District Court.
William Vernon Cole Jr. (Age 20 of Lexington Park) was arrested by Deputy Michael George on an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear.
Deputy Timothy Reece arrested Darius Antonio Varlack (Age 28 of Lexington Park) for Failure to Appear in the District Court.
Charles MacArthur Smith (Age 39 of Capital Heights, Md) was arrested by Deputy Eric Walker and served with a warrant for Escape-Second Degree. Suspect Smith was sentenced to the Detention Center and failed to comply with the orders.
Deputy William Rishel responded to a call to a Lexington Park residence for the reported disturbance. Once on the scene his investigation revealed that Suspect Terrance Elum (Age 46 of Lexington Park, Maryland) had threatened and held a knife to the throat of his wife. He was arrested and charged with both First and Second Degree Assault.
Deputies on the scene of a controlled dangerous substance violation at a California establishment, attempted to arrest a juvenile who was found to be in possession of marijuana. Associates of the juvenile became involved and three (3) adults were arrested. Nathaniel Antonio Taylor (Age 21 of Lexington Park), Christopher Wayne Standen (Age 19 of California, Md.) and Steveland Morris Stewart (Age 21 of California, Md.) were charged with various crimes to include Failure to Obey a Lawful Order, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct and Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer. The juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana.
James Anthony Lawrence (Age 28 of Mechanicsville) was arrested and charged with Failure to Appear. The original warrant was through Calvert County District Court. The arresting Officer was Deputy Robert Gill.
Deputy Michael Harrison conducted an investigation into several employee assisted thefts from a California business. Deputy Harrison charged Kasi Demetria China (Age 19 of Lexington Park) with three (3) separate counts of theft over $500.00. Suspect China was the employee who orchestrated several thefts to include two (2) shopping carts of clothing and electronics for the price of a head of lettuce. She is currently awaiting a Preliminary Hearing before the District Court. Deputy Harrison was the charging Officer.
Deputy Earl Young charged Sanjah Leah Hunt (Age 22 of Mechanicsville) for passing a bad check. The value of the check was less than $17.00.
Deputy Kevin Meyer conducted an investigation into a theft and fraud complaint in the California area. After utilizing a credit card at a local eatery, the victim discovered additional charges made and a California business. Deputy Meyer developed a suspect who was positively identified as the suspect who used the card. An electronic item was purchased with the stolen credit card info and that to was recovered. The Suspect was apprehended at his place of employment and arrested. Suspect Cheng Chen (Age 18 of California, Maryland) was arrested and charged with Credit Card theft, Credit Card Fraud and Identity theft.
Allen Neilson Dyson Jr. (Age 62 of Mechanicsville) was arrested and charged with Third and Fourth Degree Sexual Offenses. Suspect Dyson was in a vehicle with the eleven (11) year old victim returning from an amusement park when he fondled her no less than (2) two times. He was arrested by Deputy Jason Maletto.
Anthony Avon Livers (Age 21 of Waldorf, Maryland) is currently incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was charged with additional unrelated charges of Property Destruction (destroying a library book) and Assault on a Correctional Officer. The assault took place when the Suspect was being moved from his cell to the recreation location.
