The Charles County Sheriff's Office raised $1,943.25 during the 6th Annual Strong Man and Woman Competition held Aug. 5 at White Plains Regional Park. The proceeds from the competition will benefit the local Crime Victims' Fund. The fund benefits victims of crime who do not qualify for the State Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund. The annual event also raises awareness about domestic and family violence. To support the event, some of the
world's strongest people competed in events including Conan's Wheel, Stone Load, Log Cleans and Presses, Waddle Walk, Farmer's Walk and Tire Flip. Additionally, Mary Jacobson provided a
women's fitness demonstration.
