CDS Violation

Dfc. John "Marty" McCarroll conducted a traffic stop on a Ford truck displaying suspended tags on Sept. 8 at 10:42 p.m. on Md. Rt. 2/4 at Skinners Turn Road. A computer check advised that the driver, Rodney V. Johnson, 37, of Lusby, was driving on a revoked license. A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana. Johnson was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and possession of marijuana.

A juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana on a youth report and released to his mother on September 10 at 12:35 a.m. by Cpl. Roscoe Jones. Jones and Dfc. David Denton had been dispatched to the Safeway parking lot in Dunkirk in response to a call for disorderly juveniles.

Assault and DOP

On Sept. 10 at 4:00 in the morning, Dfc. Christopher M. Sloane responded to Longhorn Circle in Lusby for a report of assault. Two juvenile victims advised that a white Cherokee SUV with four occupants had pulled up alongside them as they were walking and yelled comments. One of the occupants then exited the vehicle and put one of the victims in a headlock. The perpetrator got back in the SUV, which then took off.

While speaking with the victims, Sloane heard the control center broadcast a call for a fight on Golden West Way and Cheyenne Trail between four people in a white SUV and another vehicle. A witness advised Sloane that she observed an altercation between four occupants of a white SUV and another vehicle but that the SUV had fled the scene after stealing a ladder from the side of a home.

Dfc. Sloane, assisted by Sgt. Craig Bowen, located the suspect SUV on Hernandez Lane after a short chase and instructed the occupants to exit the vehicle. Ronald A. Scott, Jr., 19, of Lusby, was arrested and charged with theft and disorderly conduct. Christopher D. Cole, 18, of Hollywood was arrested and charged with theft, assault and disorderly conduct and Dustin O. Shelor, 18, of Dowell was arrested and charged with assault, theft, destruction of property and disorderly conduct. The fourth occupant, a juvenile, was charged on a youth report with theft and disorderly conduct and released to his mother.
