MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


On September 9, 2006 at 3:15 am, the Emergency Communications Center (ECC) dispatched units to a fight in progress at an address in the 48000 block of Three Notch Road, Lexington Park. Upon arrival officers observed Anthony Allen Paterno, 20, of Hollywood, passed out on the ground. He was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital by the Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad. Further investigation revealed that numerous subjects had been consuming large amounts of alcoholic beverages. Mr. Paterno was issued a citation for under age drinking. The following subjects were also cited for under age drinking: Britteny Star Carter, 18, of Lexington Park; Megan Christine Sevilla, 18, of Lexington Park; and a 15 year old male from Lexington Park. On September 11, 2006 at 12:10 am, TFC Linger stopped a vehicle on Route 242 at Sugar Hole Road, Clements, when the driver was observed not wearing a seatbelt. The driver was identified as Ricky Allen Mattingly, 36, of Lexington Park. A check through MVA indicated Mr. Mattingly’s driving privilege was suspended. He was placed under arrest. A search incident to arrest revealed a folded dollar bill containing cocaine in his pants pocket. A smoking device, containing cocaine, was located under the driver’s seat. Mr. Mattingly was charged with driving while suspended, possession of cocaine and possession of CDS paraphernalia. He was taken to the detention center and held pending a bond review. (0682009991)

On September 11, 2006 at 3:38 am, TFC Linger stopped a Mercury for failing to stop at the stop sign on Hurry Road at Route 242 in Clements. The driver identified himself by name and date of birth. During conversation with the driver an odor of burnt cocaine was detected. A probable cause search was conducted. Located between the driver’s seat and the center console was a smoking device containing cocaine. A wallet was also found which contained an identification card for the driver. The photo on the card matched the driver; however the name was not the same. Further investigation revealed the driver, Garfield Emanuel Frederick, 42, of California, had given a false name. A check through MVA indicated Mr. Frederick did not have a license and his privilege to drive was suspended. A check on the vehicle registration indicated the tags displayed belonged on another vehicle. Mr. Frederick and the passenger, Kerwin DeAndre Ware, 30, of Avenue, were arrested. Mr. Frederick was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of CDS paraphernalia, driving while suspended and numerous other traffic violations. Mr. Ware was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Both were taken to the detention center and held pending a bond review. The tags were confiscated and returned to MVA. The vehicle was impounded pending owner notification. (0682009999)

On September 12, 2006 at 6:31 pm, TFC Nims stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and identified the driver as a 17 year old male from Mechanicsville. The juvenile was found in possession of cigarettes. He was issued a civil citation for possession of a tobacco product while under the age of 18. (0682010063)

On September 13, 2006 at 1:17 am, TFC Linger responded to the 46000 block of Valley Court, Lexington Park, for a 911 hang up. Upon arrival TFC Linger knocked on the door however there was no answer. ECC continued to call the residence but no one answered the phone. TFC Linger observed a young male looking through a window and he heard a struggle coming from inside the apartment. After several minutes the door was opened. The victim advised that Anthony Leo Macon, 40, of Lexington Park, had assaulted her young children. No injuries were observed on the victim or the children. Medical assistance was refused. The victim advised that when she attempted to answer the phone and door, Mr. Macon held her against the wall refusing to release her. Mr. Macon was arrested for assault and false imprisonment. A search incident to arrest revealed a smoking device containing cocaine in his pants pocket. Mr. Macon was charged with assault, false imprisonment, possession of cocaine and possession of CDS paraphernalia. He was taken to the detention center and held pending a bail review. (0682010081)
