Hoyer to Remember 9/11, Tour Storm Damage in Southern Maryland


WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) will attend two 9/11 remembrance events in southern Maryland on Monday, September 11. In addition, he will tour the damage caused by Tropical Storm Ernesto and receive an update from the Army Corps of Engineers on the completion of dredging at St. Jerome Creek and the status of the Corps' study to determine the feasibility of constructing additional jetties there.

Hoyer will first attend the 9/11 Remembrance at the Little Flower School in Great Mills. Immediately after the ceremony, he will take a tour of damage caused by tropical depression Ernesto and receive an update on the St. Jerome Creek project. Finally, in the evening, he will attend the Chesapeake Beach 5th Annual 9/11 Remembrance and Candlelight Vigil that will be held in Veterans Park in Chesapeake Beach.
