St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


On August 18th, 2006, Sheriff's Office Deputy William Kile stopped to assist a stranded motorist who had broken down in the roadway of Budd's Creek Road. When the operator, Suspect Ibithihaj Brooks (Age 27 of Bushwood) exited the vehicle Deputy Kile noted marijuana in plain view inside the vehicle. Suspect Brooks was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center.

On August 19th, 2006 Sheriff's Office Deputy Angela Muller began an investigation into several counterfeit prescriptions that were passed at a local pharmacy. A suspect, Richard E. Williams was developed. Deputies encountered the Suspect as he returned to the establishment. Suspect Williams was positively identified as the Suspect passing the counterfeit prescriptions as well as the same person who had stolen a pill crusher. Suspect Williams was charged with eight (8) counts of Counterfeit Prescriptions, Theft under $100.00 three (3) counts and one (1) Count of attempting to obtain a schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance.

On August 17th, 2006, Sheriff's Office Deputy William Kile conducted a traffic stop in the Loveville area. The driver was found to be operating that vehicle on a suspended license. The passenger, Suspect Cory Devon Yates (Age 27 of Mechanicsville) was found to be in possession of crack cocaine. He was arrested and charged. Upon being transported to the Detention Center Suspect Yates attempted to conceal additional crack cocaine in the rear of the Deputy's vehicle. He was charged with possession of cocaine.

On August 19th, 2006, Sheriff's Office Deputy Robert Merritt responded to a Lexington Park establishment for the reported theft. His investigation revealed Suspect Lori Ann Horton (Age 42 of Lexington Park) had stolen a bottle of Vodka valued at less than $6.00. She was charged with one count of Theft under $100.00 and is currently awaiting a Preliminary Hearing before the District Court.
