INTOXICATED DRIVER: On Aug. 19 at 1:05 a.m., Officer J. Clagett conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling south on Leonardtown Road near Renner Road, because the taillights on the vehicle were inoperative. Investigation revealed the driver, Timika Danielle Stewart, 22, of Bushwood, Md., was intoxicated. She was arrested and charged with driving while impaired and driving under the influence. Stewart was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending her appearance before the district court commissioner.

MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH: On Aug. 17 at 3:23 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the 8400 block of Marshall Corner Road in Pomfret for the motor vehicle crash. Investigation revealed an eastbound 2004 Cadillac Deville attempted to turn left in front of a westbound 1999 Mercury Sable and the vehicles collided. The driver of the Deville, Jackson David Brown, 65, of White Plains, was not injured. The driver of the Sable, Lisa Carol Makowelski, 45, of La Plata, sustained non-life-threatening, incapacitating injuries and was transported by ambulance to Civista Medical Center. Brown was issued a traffic citation for failure to yield the right of way while making a left turn. Officer R. Glover of the Traffic Operations Unit investigated.

BURGLARY: On Aug. 16 at approximately 11:30 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 4000 block of Clarice Place in Nanjemoy for the burglary report. Investigation revealed Troy Dwayne Farmer, 22, of La Plata entered the residence through a window after making threats to the homeowner, a 22-year-old woman whom he knows. Farmer was still on the scene when officers arrived and was subsequently arrested. He was charged with third- and fourth-degree burglary and trespassing and was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner. Officer J. Timko investigated.

THEFT: Sometime between 8:30 p.m. Aug. 11 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 12, suspect(s) stole items from the Swan Point Golf Course located at 11550 Swan Point Boulevard in Swan Point. The items have a value of more than $500. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-2222. Officer R. Kimble is investigating.
