Waldorf Man Runs From Police; Arrested for Marijuana


On Aug. 15 at 10:15 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers assigned to the Community Policing Unit were conducting anti-crime surveillance in Waldorf. As the officers approached the 2500 block of Robinson Place, several subjects were observed in the common area. One of the subjects, William Pierre Strong, 21, of Waldorf, started to run. Officers observed him throw a brown bag to the ground while fleeing. He was apprehended and arrested.

The bag was found to contain two plastic bags of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Strong was charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest. He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the district court commissioner.
