MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


On Monday, July 31, 2006 at 6:40 am, Maryland State Police, Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, arrested Aaron Wesley Semans, 25, of Leonardtown, on an arrest warrant. After an eight month investigation a warrant charging Mr. Semans with 19 counts of compiling, distributing/transmitting, and possessing child pornography was issued. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bond review. (2Q00033868)

On Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at 12:48 pm, Tpr. Evans arrested James R. Shad, 28, of Lexington Park, on two outstanding warrants. One for failing to appear in court on a theft charge and one for failing to appear on a driving while suspended charge. Mr. Shad was taken to the detention center and held on no bond. (3Q00029403)

On Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 2:40 am, a St. Mary’s County Deputy arrested Alfred Johnathan Thomas, 34, of Chaptico, on an outstanding MSP warrant. Tpr. Shughart responded to the detention center and served Mr. Thomas with the bench warrant for failing to appear in court for a driving while suspended charge. He was held without bail. (DV48315)

On Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 8:52 am, TFC Trossbach arrested Richard Bauer Breck, 51, of Park Hall, on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court on a DUI charge. He was taken to the detention center and held without bond. (18-K-04-000093)

On Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 11:30 am, TFC Trossbach arrested James L. Cooper, 33, of Hollywood, on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court for a violation of probation hearing. He was taken to the detention center and held without bail. (3Q00030621)

On Thursday, August 3, 2006 at 7:30 pm, TFC Laney arrested William James Heflin, 38, of Lexington Park, on an outstanding bench warrant for failing to follow condition of probation from a DUI charge. Mr. Heflin was taken to the detention center and held without bond. (DV97358)

On Friday, August 4, 2006 at 3:20 pm, Richard A. Brownalvez, 23, of Lexington Park, was arrested by a Howard County Officer on an outstanding St. Mary’s County Bench Warrant for failing to appear in court on a possession of marijuana charge. Mr. Brownalvez was taken to the Howard County Detention Center and held on $3,500 bond. (0Q00034111)

On Friday, August 4, 2006 at 5:00 pm, Tpr. Brill arrested Dennis Christopher Taylor, 24, of Park Hall, on two warrants for unauthorized use of a vehicle, and failing to appear in court on a possession of CDS paraphernalia charge. Mr. Taylor was taken to the detention center and held without bond. (5Q00027746, 4Q00032554)

On Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 10:39 am, TFC Quade responded to Valley Court, Lexington Park, for a reported assault. Investigation revealed that the victim and Curtisha Patrice Ferguson, 20, of Lexington Park, were arguing when Ms. Ferguson grabbed a stick and struck the victim several times. The victim sustained injuries to the left side of the body and a laceration to the left eyebrow area. No medical treatment was sought. Ms. Ferguson was arrested and charged with assault. She was taken to the detention center and held pending a bond review. (0682008503)

On Sunday, August 6, 2006 at 5:10 pm, TFC Trossbach arrested Steven James Roberts, 43, of Leonardtown, on a bench warrant for failing to appear in court on charges of driving while suspended and revoked, and driving an uninsured vehicle. Mr. Roberts was taken to the detention center and held on $3,500 bond. (EE63670)

On Sunday, August 6, 2006 at 10:05 pm, Tpr. Evans arrested Laura Lea Chikes, 21, of California, on a bench warrant for failing to appear in court on a driving while suspended charge. Ms. Chikes was taken to the detention center and held on $2,500 bond. (DV56132)
