MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


On Thursday, July 27, 2006 at 5:30 am, Tpr. K. Shughart responded to Narrow Way, Hollywood, for a reported vehicle fire. Investigation revealed the vehicle owner was driving around on his property when he lost control, rolled over and landed in the woods. The owner exited the vehicle, then the vehicle began to smoke, and then it caught fire. No other property was damaged in this incident. (0682008120)

On Friday, July 28, 2006 at 2:30 am, a broadcast was given out for an attempt to locate a Honda for reckless operation. TFC Nims observed the Honda traveling on Route 4 in the area of Patuxent Blvd, California. After observing the reckless operation, TFC Nims stopped the vehicle. Upon contact with the driver, David Lewis Purcell, 18, of Hollywood, the end of a baseball bat was observed sticking out from the center console. When the bat was removed it was observed to have numerous cut marks and shards of glass stuck in the bat. Mr. Purcell was arrested and charged with possession of a concealed deadly weapon. He was taken to the detention center and held pending a bond review. (0682008174)

On Friday, July 28, 2006 at 9:47 am, Tpr. B. McCartney responded to Blackwell Court, Piney Point, for a reported violation of a protective order. Investigation revealed that Quintin Dewitt Blackwell, 43, of Tall Timbers, had an open protective order against him. Mr. Blackwell was order not to contact the petitioner or respond to the listed property. Mr. Blackwell was arrested and charged with violation of a protective order. He was taken to the detention center and held pending a bond review. (0682008186)
