Charles County Sheriff's Reports

MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH: On July 31 at 1:08 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the intersection of Leonardtown and Bryantown roads in Bryantown for the report of a motor vehicle crash. Investigation revealed a 1995 Freightliner dump truck was traveling north on Leonardtown Road. The driver, Kwasi Washington, 34, of Suitland, lost control of the dump truck while approaching the red traffic signal and did not stop. The driver went onto Bryantown Road, left the roadway and crashed. Washington sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Civista Medical Center by ambulance. Speed appears to be a factor. Charges are pending. Officer D. Snyder investigated.
