Two Teens Arrested for Pot on Smallwood Drive West


According to the Charles County Sheriff's Office, on July 14 at 1:25 p.m., Officer C. Black of the Community Policing Unit responded to the 2000 block of Smallwood Drive West for the report of subjects smoking drugs in a parking lot. Officer Black observed a white Chevrolet Blazer with three occupants throwing tobacco products out of the vehicle. He approached the vehicle and observed marijuana on the floorboard between the driver and front seat passenger. A search of the vehicle revealed a plastic baggie of marijuana and a Philly blunt.

The driver and passenger, both 17 years of age from Hughesville and Waldorf, respectively, were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were released to the custody of their parents. The rear passenger was not charged.
