Two Home Robberies in Charles County


ROBBERY: On July 16 at 10:27 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Patuxent Court in La Plata for the report of a robbery. Investigation revealed five suspects approached a 39-year-old man in front of the residence and demanded money. During the robbery two of the suspects were armed with handguns and assaulted the victim. The suspects punched and kicked the victim, held a gun to his head and threatened to shoot him. The suspects stole the victim’s cell phone and wallet and fled on foot toward the back of Patuxent Court.

All suspects are described as black males between 17 and 22 years of age. The first suspect is 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighs 160 pounds and has a medium build and shoulder length dread lock style hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt and a black skull cap. The second suspect was described as dark-complexioned and 5 feet 11 inches tall and is 200 pounds with short hair. He was wearing jean shorts and no shirt and was carrying a dark-colored semi-automatic handgun. The third suspect is medium-complexioned has a thin build, is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs160 pounds and has short hair. He was wearing a white sleeveless T-shirt and light-colored jean shorts and was carrying a silver revolver. There is no further description of the fourth and fifth suspects.

This incident does not appear to be random. The victim was transported by ambulance to Civista Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Det. D. Gross at 301-609-6488.

HOME INVASION ROBBERY: On July 14 at 8:30 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Southern Maryland Hospital Center in Clinton for the report of a victim being treated for injuries sustained during a home invasion in Charles County. Investigation revealed the victim, a 25-year-old man, was at his residence in the 2100 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf when he answered a knock at his door. Two suspects struck the victim in the head several times with a handgun. The suspects tied up the victim inside the residence and forced him into a closet. The suspects stole the victim’s cell phone and cash and fled the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital by a friend.

Both suspects are described as black males with large builds and are in their 30s. The first suspect is described as dark-complexioned, is 5 feet 9 inches tall and has short hair. The second suspect is described as bald. Both suspects were in possession of handguns. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Det. C. Shankster at 301-609-6513.
