The Charles County Commissioners announced today that the Department of Public Facilities, in cooperation with E-Structors, Inc. of Elkridge, Maryland, will begin offering e-cycling services for residents on Saturday, July 15, 2006. Collection services will be offered during normal business hours, Monday-Saturday from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Charles County Sanitary Landfill on Billingsley Road East in Waldorf.
The materials accepted for e-cycling include computers, monitors, peripherals, televisions, telephones, cell phones and PDAs, printers, copiers, stereos, VCRs and DVD players, camcorders, CD players, fax machines, projection equipment, calculators, scanners, electronic typewriters, consumer electronics, electronic toys, and microwaves. Items not being accepted include refrigerators, air conditioners, de-humidifiers, and lab equipment. No scavenging will be allowed. All data will be destroyed providing total security destruction.
