On June 26, 2006 at 12:00 pm, TFC S. Van Bennekum responded to Abell Road, Abell, for a reported theft. The victim advised that 3 crab pots had been stolen from his yard. Investigation is continuing. (0682006909)

On June 26, 2006 at 3:00 pm, TFC A. Rossignol arrested Ellis Loren Heckler Jr., 43, no fixed address, on an outstanding warrant for 2nd degree assault. This warrant was issued after investigation, on May 25, 2006, revealed that he assaulted a female victim, causing a broken thumb and toe. He was located and arrested without incident. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bond review. (6Q00033718, 0682005859)`

On June 26, 2006 at 4:30 pm, TFC S. Van Bennekum arrested Christopher Michael Dean, 20, of Hollywood on an outstanding warrant for charges of abandonment of a vessel and littering/dumping: over 500 lbs on Patuxent River north of Ben Creek in Calvert County. Mr. Dean was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bond review. (3O00027576, Natural Resources Police case #105018418-S)

On June 27, 2006 at 11:22 am, Tpr. D. Lewis responded to Food Lion, Lexington Park, for a reported shoplifting. Investigation revealed that a subject had concealed food items in his clothing and left the business without paying. A description of the subject and vehicle were broadcasted. TFC S. Van Bennekum and Tpr. E. Evans located the vehicle and conducted a stop. The driver was identified as a 17 year old from Waldorf. The items stolen were recovered from the vehicle. The juvenile was taken to the Leonardtown Barrack, charged and released to his mother, pending disposition by juvenile authorities. (0682006942)

On June 27, 2006, TFC M. Laney extradited Shawn Michael Trail, 35, no fixed address, from Raleigh, NC. Mr. Trail had an outstanding arrest warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and theft over $500. These charges resulted from an investigation initiated on September 29, 2005. Mr. Trail was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bond review. (2Q00031663, 0582013564)

On June 28, 2006 at 10:55 am, TFC P. Trossbach served Joan Marie Wiggin, 37, of Chaptico, with a criminal summons to appear in court for an assault charge. This charge resulted when Ms. Wiggin hit the victim with a telephone on June 16, 2006. (0682006210)

On June 28, 2006 at 12:08 pm, TFC P. Trossbach served Kevin Ernest Bryant, 39, of Callaway, with a criminal summons to appear in court for an assault charge. This charge resulted from an altercation on June 20, 2006. (0682006704)

On June 29, 2006 at 11:10 pm, TFC A. Rossignol responded to Liberty Street, Lexington Park, for a reported disturbance. Investigation revealed that an altercation ensued when the property owner told three subjects to leave her property. Assaults were alleged to be made by both parties. The investigation is continuing with charges pending. (0682007056)

On July 1, 2006 at 9:00 am, TFC T. Quade arrested Terry Lynn Savoy, 36, of Chesapeake Beach, on an outstanding Charles County Bench Warrant for escape. Mr. Savoy was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held until posting a $5,000 bond. (2P00048561)

On July 1, 2006 at 4:50 PM, Tpr. E. Evans arrested Walter Raymond Hairston, 50, of Lexington Park, on an outstanding bench warrant for failing to appear to be fingerprinted on an assault charge. Mr. Hairston was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held until posting a $3,500 bond. (1Q00031886)

On July 1, 2006 at 10:55 pm, TFC A. Rossignol responded to Lexington Park for a reported robbery. The victim advised that as he walked passed the Essence Beauty Salon on N. Shangri-La Drive, Lexington Park, he was confronted by four subjects. He was hit in the back of the head and fell to the ground where the subjects kicked and punched him. After the assault, the victim’s new red and blue Nike shoes were stolen. The victim was transported to St. Mary’s County Hospital with facial injuries and pain to his head.
